b.stoltefussMemberHi,
this may be a stupid question, but how can i remove a personal update site which i added in configuration center. I misspelled the url and tried to correct it, but instead it added another site with the same name. I can find no menu-entry to delete a site (just add and refresh)!?
Bernd
b.stoltefussMemberVersion is 8.5-20100319
support-joyMemberBernd,
Can you answer few queries for me to understand the current issue –
1. Can you copy and paste your installation details? Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
2. How did you add the update site? Using MyEclipse Configuration Center / Pulse
3. After adding the update site, did you expand the personal update site and add the software to your profile by clicking on [add to profile]?
4. To remove the personal update site from the MyEclipse configuration center, right click on the same and click on [remove]
Let me know if this helps.
b.stoltefussMemberHi,
thanks for the quick reply.
1.

2. I added the site using Configuration Center->Software tab->add site
3. Under “Personal Sites” i now have 3 entries named “Jalopy” (2 of them have wrong urls). I did not add any of them to my profile (i can’t even do that cause they are marked as error).
4. When i right click an entry i have the menus “Add to Profile…”, “Add Update Site…” and “Refresh Update Site”. I have no entry named “remove”.

b.stoltefussMemberHave a look:

support-joyMemberBernd,
Thank you for the details. Can you send me a screenshot? This will help me get a visual. You can either [pm] or send a mail to [email protected] with this weblink as reference and add ATTN:Joy in subject for quick tracing. Can you provide the update site which you have added and what is the valid update site?
b.stoltefussMemberPlease have a look above (i added the screen there). The correct update-site for the entry Jalopy is: http://vmservice/eclipse/updatesites/jalopy/update-site-3.5 (its a local site!)
The wrong ones are: http://vmservice/eclipse/updatesites/jalopy and jar:file:/S:/updatesites/jalopy-setup-1.9.4_108.jar.When i select “Jalopy” as recent site in the add dialog the url from the last added variants url is shown. When i change this url a NEW entry is added (which might be the correct behaviour for an add button, but then i am missing an edit option too).
b.stoltefussMemberI can not completly rule out an installation problem. Though i got no error during installtion, i had to do a patched pulse installation afterwards (i modified the pulse server url from https to http, because the installer doesn’t like our https proxy which uses a non trusted ssl-certificate). I did a reinstall of myeclipse afterwards, but this didn’t change anything. As this is a test system for our Myclipse 6.0 -> 8.5 migration i can reinstall from scratch if you think that would help (but because of the pulse installer problem i would have to do a manual pulse install before).
support-joyMemberBernd,,
Thank you for the screenshot. This is what you need to do – Go to Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center > Software tab. Select Jalopy from My Software > Personal. Right click on the same and click on [remove]. This will prompt you “Are you sure you want to remove jalopy?”. Click on [Yes]. This will remove the entry from the Personal Sites as well. I have attached a screenshot for your reference. Let me know if this works for you.
