markwmccallMemberI noticed your roadmap shows 2.6.3 release scheduled for September, which has already passed us by. This release has at least one feature we are interested in – a Resin Connector.
How close is the roadmap to maintaining its schedule, specifically with regard to 2.6.3 and the remainder of the year?
Thanks!
Mark McCall
Scott AndersonParticipantMark,
We need to update the timelines. We added Resin, JRun, and Jonas for 3.6.3 and it will be out later this week. Sorry for the delay. It’s software, ya know. 😉

markwmccallMemberThanks for the fast reply Scott. Believe, me I understand the dynamic nature of changing requirements and timelines! 😉
You mention Resin will be in 3.6.3 – not 2.6.3. Does this mean you will only support Resin with Eclipse 3.0?
How does your schedule look for the roadmap as outlined for the remainder of the year? My company is in the process of re-evaluating our development tools and I am curious about two items:
1) XML Development – what specific features are you looking to include? Schema creation? Visual XML (tree-like) editing? etc…
2) UML modeling – are planning to build your own or partner with someone else (e.g. Omondo?)Thanks for a great product!

Sorry for that. Resin support will be in 2.6.3 and 3.6.3. They’re still functionally equivalent.
1) XML Development – what specific features are you looking to include? Schema creation? Visual XML (tree-like) editing? etc…
On this one, I’m not sure. There’s been a lot of discussion, but I don’t know what’s been decided.
2) UML modeling – are planning to build your own or partner with someone else (e.g. Omondo?)
We’ve already got a partner for that functionality and we’ll have it out before the end of the year. It’s not Omondo.
Thanks for a great product!
We’re trying! 🙂 Thanks for the feedback and ideas.

Woo Hoo, UML is on the way…
Will it work with both the 2.11 and 3.0 eclipse streams??

That really depends on the timing and level of effort, but I would think that given the introduction time that it would. I’m not the guy that makes such decisions, however.
