Andrew FreemanMemberPlease provide RSS feeds for the site. I think this would reduce the amount of traffic that you have coming to your site.
Thanks,
Andy
[email protected]MemberWe are working on enabling RSS feed for the news and updates section of the MyEclipse portal.
We will provide an update as soon as it is ready.

I believe we’re still trying to increase the amount of traffic we get, not reduce it. 🙂

Riyad KallaMemberHahha, AHHH that’s strategy.
<imagines a dilbert comic where the management tries to drive users away to lighten the load on the servers>
[email protected]MemberRSS syndication actually drives traffic not reduce it. I believe Andy meant to say that it reduces the number of people returning to check the news or development status. These are either existing customers or users looking for up-to-date information.
You can now access our RSS news feed through the following URL:
http://www.myeclipseide.com/backend.php
Please feel free to put on your web site and share with others. This would be a nice motivation for us to provide more current and timely information 🙂
We are also looking into providing a summary of last n-forum posts via an RSS feed as well.

Yes, this is what I meant by my request. Thank you for translating. 😀
The feed you are providing is a great start. What I would like to see, though, is a RSS feed from the forums. I would “visit” the site more often and would probably contribute more if I could see what others are saying about the product.
Keep up the great work guys! Just don’t work too much…
Andy
Pascal DeMillyMemberI would like to see the forums not implement as mailing lists. It is easier for me to check new mails (I have a mailbox for each mailing list I subscribe to) than to go to a web site.
Pascal
Riyad KallaMemberPascal,
The trouble with mailing lists is that now the support team has two mediums to check, that are independant of eachother and don’t translate 1: 1.Please… think of the poor support team 😀
Pascal DeMillyMemberThanks Ryad for your quick answer. I fully understand your concerns. But what about using an integration tools like mail to forum: http://m2f.sourceforge.net/ to automate the process?
Pascal
Riyad KallaMemberPascal,
Very cool link, I’ll pass that onto our web team and see what they say. Thanks!
[email protected]MemberPascal and Riyad,
We evaluated M2F on our development site, but we were able to follow installation instructions on this portal. While the MyEclipse forum is based on the popular phpbb forum system, it is heavily modified to work with this portal. We will have to look into this capability at more details.
ckevinhillMemberThanks I hate having to check the site, RSS is much more efficient.
ckevinhillMemberCan we add content to the feeds…. right now they are just titles which means I have to “click through” to get real information. Not very useful in dashboarding.
Riyad KallaMemberckevinhill,
I’m not following what you are asking about but if you mark “notify me of replies” you should be notified of thread replies. Implementing RSS feeds is fairly low on our priority system right now as we try and focus our efforts on the product instead of our portal (Which is one of the reasons our portal runs on PHP and not Java).
anaonlinMemberi think that it will be great
