    Hi.
    I’m using myeclipse 8.5 and debugging/developing a web application.
Everytime I start a debug session I have to reset (add a new path to) my path to source code.
It isn’t hard to do, it just doesn’t ‘stick’ between sessions.

I am fairly sure this is a bug, but maybe it is a base eclipse bug. Anyway is there a fix/workaround for this besides having to set this every debug session?

I have posted this before but after some replies and discussion it went dead.

    thanks
    Jeff

    Jeff,

Can you give me few pointers –
    1. When you refer to debugging, are you referring to JSP / java / javascript/ IE debugging?
    2. How are you initiating the debug?
    3.

Can you explain this in detail. Please add screenshots which will help me get a visual.
    4. What is your OS and version? Please copy and paste your installation details. Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
    5. What is the app server you are deploying your web app?
    6. I notice you are on 8.5, can you please upgrade to 8.6 and see if this issue recurs? To upgrade to ME 8.6, open Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center. Choose Dashboard tab. Select the software updates, click on [Apply x changes] under *Pending Changes* and follow the wizard
    7. When prompted please choose to restart the IDE
Let me know how this works for you.

I can’t see how to attach screen shots here. is that possible?
I fire up my app server using the servers tab, and right click on weblogic 9.2 and choose debug.

then when I use the app and it hits a break point, the MyEclipse IDE comes up with a blank window saying it can not find the source code.

There is a button I can click however to add a path to the source code search. When I enter an application subfolder, everything seems to work fine.

    thanks
    Jeff
p.s. windows XP professional version 2002 sp3 is my O/S.

I’ll try updating to 8.6 later to see if anything is fixed.
I am debugging java code, not jsp’s or anything else…

    Hi again.
I tried updating to 8.6, and also I tried settting the source tab under the debug configuration, but it still prompts me with the ‘source not found’ ‘Edit Source Lookup Path’ button.

    Jeff,

Thank you for the installation details. You can use [pm]/[post reply] to send screenshots. Else you can also send an email to [email protected] with screenshots. Please add ATTN:Joy in the subject and add the above weblink for reference. This will help in quick tracing.

    Hi,

this problem still occurs. The difference on my side is, that I’m using Maven4MyEclipse. I created a Target which is running the jetty-Plugin. In MyEclipse I see the Source Code of the Snapshots, downloaded by Maven.
But when jetty is running, the Source-Path is not set automatically, so I have to add it each time.

    Any Ideas?

    Hi.
I can offer this.. others are having this issue here except one person. The difference is that the one person not having the problem is running weblogic from a command line, I’m strarting the servier in debug from the IDE under the servers tab.
