I define a list with util:list, but when I use it the editor warns me that it isn’t defined.

to get support Spring 2.0 XSD-based configuration you need to install Spring IDE 2.0. See https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/springide-2-0-integration/&highlight=spring+ide for more.
