When I start eclipse I get numerous errors along the lines of:

This plug-in (located at “d:\DevTools\MyEclipse\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.draw2d_3.0.0”) was ignored because another version of the same plug-in (located at “d:\DevTools\Eclipse\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.draw2d_3.0.1”) was picked

First: Is this a problem? I haven’t noticed any problems, but I probably use 1% of the stuff MyEclipse offers (so far).

Second: Do you have any plans to upgrade the MyEclipse EMF/GEF jars so that I won’t get that error?

Third: I’m running the newest EMF/GEF jars for other things that I’m working on. Are there/is there any testing that I can help you with? I run JDK 1.4.2/Eclipse 3.0.1 on a Win2K AdvServer box.

Fourth: Keep up the good work!! Like I said I haven’t even scraped the surface of MyEclipse, but everything I have touched is AWESOME. The XSD creator is worth its weight in gold alone.

    Thanks!!!

We have a couple of features that rely on GEF extensively, the Struts Designer and ERD designer are two that come to mind. So if you have used them and haven’t encountered any problems then you shouldn’t have any problems.

I’m not for sure on the plans for upgrading. I would think we would upgrade once we have a need because of a feature/bugfix in GEF. But MyEclipse is supporrted on both Eclipse 3.0.0 and 3.0.1, and we have to be careful when upgrading bundled libraries.

The best thing you could do is use our tools that rely heavily on GEF and report back any issues you have with them.

Thanks for the encouragement. There have been parts of 2004 that have been especially grueling and its comments from users like this that keep us going at 5am during QA/release weeks.
