minhurMemberI’m not able to install MyEclipse CI 6 2014-10-18 on my mac with 8GB ram
I get the error: Insufficient Memory
I have 8gb physical memory and 0mb virtual mem, but I should be allowed to install since I do have enough combined memory

support-swapnaModeratorMinhur,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue. This is a known issue and we have a bug raised for it.
While the dev team is investigating further, please check this thread for a workaround posted by one of our users.
Let us know how it works for you.
minhurMemberI’ve tried one of the two workarounds, and it isn’t working for me.
either way this is blocking our team of devs from having ME 2015 installed on their macs (we’re all mac based)
Do you have a timeline on when we can get a working installer for mac?
minhurMemberor at least provide me a link to older release of ME2015 so I can install an older version and run update on it.
I do recall ME 2015 installing successfully in one of the older versions
support-tonyKeymasterminhur,
I’m sorry for the problems here. In the past, this was a very rare issue and there was always a workaround, so it hadn’t received a lot of attention, I’m afraid. However, we’ve noticed the issue being raised more frequently and have thus raised the priority of the bug. I’m afraid I can’t give you a time-line at the moment though with CI releases being made frequently, I’m hopeful of a speedy resolution this time.
With the workaround you tried, could you provide more details of how it didn’t work as it might help others, given that it worked for the developer who posted it.
I’m not aware of an earlier build of 2015 which can be installed without virtual memory. 2014 could be installed by installing eclipse and then using the update site.
Are you able to continue using an older release, or is this a new machine that doesn’t yet have MyEclipse installed?
minhurMemberThe old installer that worked for me was
MyEclipse 2015 CI 2014-07-30 InstallerDo you have a link to that installer?
minhurMemberand this was the workaround I’ve tried that didn’t work
– Download the full installer
– Open the DMG and then show the package content of the installer
– Copy the content of the Show Package contents to a separate folder
– Delete the CodeSignature folder
– From SystemPrefences temporarly enable “Allow apps downloaded from Anywhere” (in your Security & Privacy settings)
– Edit the file MacOS/standard-install and add the following to the vmargs: “-Dcom.genuitec.pulse.debug.memory.check=true”
– Run standard-install
support-tonyKeymasterminhur,
That’s interesting about the older installer working; I’ll have to check that but in the CI stream, we generally don’t keep the older installers. At GA, we will.
I did try disabling swapping, on Mavericks, and used the current online installer and that worked OK. I know it’s not ideal, but you could at least try that, by downloading a small file and just checking to see if it allows you to continue the install.
pathogenMemberI just updated my license and went to install and get this insufficient memory error when I have 16GB on my system…
Very annoying to say the least and apparently no work-arounds that consistently work…
Very disappointed.
support-tonyKeymasterPathogen,
Are you sure that you downloaded the latest 2015 installer? I just installed it on a Mac, with swapping off, and it installed fine.
It shouldn’t matter but which OS are you trying to install into?
pathogenMemberHi Tony,
Sorry I was actually referring to MyEclipse 2014 GA, not 2015 CI, using OS X. I was wanting to use that instead of 2015 CI.
Thanks!
support-tonyKeymasterPathogen,
Ah, right. I’m sorry but the fix isn’t available for the 2014 installers.
