This was transfered from the Pulse forums

I am trying to install m2eclipse, instead of Maven4MyEclipse, but I encounter this:

Software being installed: MyEclipse for Spring 8.5 (Profile) 2.0.0.0000000006 (com.poweredbypulse.profile-824382-rmb-763476 2.0.0.0000000006)
Missing requirement: MyEclipse for Spring 8.5 (Profile) 2.0.0.0000000006 (com.poweredbypulse.profile-824382-rmb-763476 2.0.0.0000000006) requires ‘com.genuitec.myeclipse.ws.feature.group [7.9.100,8.9.100)’ but it could not be found

I do have web service support for MyEclipse 4 Spring installed. Why does it complain about “com.genuitec.myeclipse.ws.feature.group “???

I wonder if anyone can help me with this. I just upgraded to MyEclipse for Spring and just need to have my update manager working again, using Pulse. I removed the web service at one point but has since put it back in, using pulse software tool. Should work right? But it didn’t, i guess, based on the error code I saw from above.
    Any idea is appreciated!

    amberbee1999,

You mention that you are trying to install m2eclipse, instead of Maven4MyEclipse. How did you try to add m2eclipse? Using update site or do you have a any weblink for my reference? Please mention the steps in details.

I would recommend you do the below mentioned –
    1. Open MyEclipse for Spring 8.5 IDE. From menu options click on Window > Preferences > MyEclipse < Maven4MyEclipse – uncheck the *Enable Maven4MyEclipse features* checkbox and click on [Apply] and [OK].
    2. Click on Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center. Choose *Dashboard* tab. Un-check the checkbox for “Maven Support for MyEclipse”. This will list 1 managed change under *Pending Changes*. Click on [Apply 1 change] and follow the wizard
    3. Add m2Eclipse plugin.

Let me know how this works for you?

I decided not to uninstall Maven4Eclipse and managed to get all the dependency resolved. There is nothing wrong with Maven4Eclipse. I was just used to m2eclipse.
On the other hand(a separate issue), I cannot seem to get rid of Maven4Eclipse if I choose to. I cannot seem to update Eclipse8.5 for Spring either.
I keep getting “com.genuitec.myeclipse.ws.feature.group” not found error. What should I do with this error, in order to get any updates?

    amberbee1999,

I have escalated your issue to dev team. They will get back to you on this.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.
