support-joyMemberHi,
Typically downloading the new Pulse installer and running it twice will recover broken Pulse Explorer installations. You can also use –repair on the installer to force a clean install.
npayarescMemberhello,
thanks for the fast answer. I got rid of the error deleting some profiles from pulse pointing to the same installation (myeclipse 8.5).
Now I am getting the same error every time I try to update any software package I am using.
Nico
support-joyMemberNico,
Can you please clarify if you have tried to perform –repair on the pulse installer?
Now I am getting the same error every time I try to update any software package I am using.
What is the software package you are referring to? How are you trying to update the said software package? Using pulse / MyEclipse IDE – Dashboard / MyEclipse IDE – MyEclipse Configuration Center?
Thomas Strauß_deletedMemberHi,
–repair did not work for me neither on pulse x64 nor on x32.
I have the renamed the Genuitec folder in my user folder and tried to install from scratch. Now I get this message in the log. If I try to access the address given I receive an “access forbidden” http response.
I need to say, that we are pretty sick of all these pulse issues. We actually are taking the risk to reinstall everything everytime if we try to update anything using pulse.
This is getting to an inacceptable blocker. We already are at a state where the whole myeclipse suite is discussed to be abandoned – and we are using it for years now.

support-joyMemberThomas Strauß,
Are you behind any firewall / proxy? If yes, I would recommend you to setup proxy as mentioned here http://www.poweredbypulse.com/forums/showthread.php?t=236 .
I have the renamed the Genuitec folder in my user folder and tried to install from scratch.
By default, .pulse2.locator file points to the pulse locator. So what I would suggest is, please delete this file from [USER-HOME]. Typically for windows, this is located at C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\.pulse2.locator and re-try installing pulse again. This could be one reason, pulse is getting confused.
If I try to access the address given I receive an “access forbidden” http response.
Can you elaborate what is the address you are referring to? Are you able to access http://www.myeclipseide.com ? If no, then please send a mail to [email protected] with details of your IP(you can use http://www.whatismyip.com to find the same) and tracert to http://www.myeclipseide.com. Please include reference of this weblink and add ATTN:Joy in subject. This will help in quick tracing.
Can you answer below queries –
1. What is your OS and version
2. Can you mention the steps in detail
3. Please include screenshots which will help me get a visual.

Same here. This is a “feature” that is totally unwanted. Eclipse already had a nice update/upgrade facility. Why this was added is a mistery. We need a way to remove it or the entire tool may be removed.
I’d rather go through the pain and agony of building the J2EE platform on the base Eclipse platform than have this bogus software on my machine. It has no value add to what I am doing. Makes me wonder just exactly why it is there. There is much more to it than what is claimed.
We need an option to remove this addon from our machines and go back to the standard Eclipse update process. I don’t want it fixed. I want it GONE.
support-joyMemberWGPuckett,
Sorry to hear you are running into dependency issues while trying to update pulse services and extensions. Can you give it a re-try.
1. Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center.
2. Choose Dashboard tab.
3. Select the software to be updated and click on [Apply x changes] button.
In case you cannot open MyEclipse IDE, you can open pulse explorer. This is located at Start > Programs > Pulse > Pulse Explorer.
1. Login to pulse.
2. Choose “Eclipse Galileo” realm from top left hand corner dropdown.
3. Select your ME profile from “My Profiles”. Right click on either “MyEclipse 8.x” and click on [re-install and run]
4. This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps.
Pulse would automatically fix any dependency issues. Let me know how this works for you.Sorry for the inconvenience.
If you prefer using MyEclipse as a plugin on top of eclipse, please refer – https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/installation-install-myeclipse-using-archived-update-site/&highlight=
