    I’m using 4.0 M2 Eclispe 3.1.

If I do an extended search and replace (through menu on top). As I replace items in a .jsp the jsp does not update itself and the next highligheted item is not correctly selected.

    Steps to reproduce.

    1. Create JSP
    2. Put text in JSP like “test this is test joe test bob test”
    3. Do a search by selecting “Search->File” from top menu.
    4. Enter containing text “test” Press the replace button.
    5. Enter as the replace value “really long test” press replace.
    6. Note how the .jsp is not refreashed with each replace.

To be more precise, the JSP file needs to be open in the editor and you must be using the global search replace, not the Ctrl+F single file search / replace.

Given that, I’ve replicated the issue and we’ll issue a PR for it. Naturally, the workaround is to close the editors before replacing or use the Ctrl+F search / replace at the file level.

I guess our QA board must’ve missed this one, huh Mike? 😉

Sorry, by “Extended Search” I meant Global search. 🙂 And I was having the same problem whether the .jsp was already opened or not. Anyway, I’m glad you were able to replicate something similar to the problem I was having. 🙂

I guess I’m just too slow to be an effective QA member. I only found 2 problems during QA and neither fix made it into the released version. 🙂

That’s not a problem. We’ll catch them in the next version. We would’ve rebuilt if they were “show stoppers”, but they weren’t. 🙂
