ganeshMemberDoes 3.7RC2 install with Eclipse 3.0 M7?
I did not have any problems using with Integration builds but after installing M7 (that was released today) I can not even install My Eclipse.
Thanks for the help.
Riyad KallaMemberganesh,
The GA release of 3.7 will support M7, until then I believe you will have to wait. Sorry for the bad news, I know you wanted to hear otherwise 🙁
Andrew FreemanMemberHopefully this release will be sooner versus later. The M7 release has a lot of really nice features. I hope that the Roadmap will be updated soon.

.there are some eclipse developers who frequent #eclipse on irc.freenode.org
and they said that last night’s integration build (I20040212 Thu, 12 Feb 2004 — 16:00 (-0500) ) is the same as M7. I’m not totally sure that’s the exact build, but it’d be some build very close to that.So.. if you’re keen (and what you say about integration builds working with myeclipse is true…) that’d be the route to take. Also see the discussion in the myeclipse ‘eclipse news’ forum.
vbfischerMemberI just copied over my links folder. from my M6 install.
Got an error when I first opened myEclipse perspective, but haven’t encountered any other issues yet. I keep a shortcut to M6 just in case though…
ganeshMemberivar,
Thanks for the pointer.
scott,
Thanks for the suggestion (I understand it is unsupported). The copying of ‘links’ folder did work. It was helpful and very positive!
support-rkalla,
All I was expecting was any positive work around. Please do not assume that I was expecting to hear otherwise. Also your suggestion to copy .eclipseproduct (on the ‘Eclipse News’ forum) does not seem to be a solution because the files are same on both M6 and M7. I tried all possible (obvious) things before posting here.
Riyad KallaMemberganesh,
I wasn’t aware of any workaround until it was posted in this thread. I’m glad Scott’s solution worked for you however.
[email protected]MemberTry to get this stuff working m6 does not work with sourceforge cvs m7 does… bummer cause it
screws up my whole workflow ( using cvs ) . Would hold u guys in the highest esteem if you could
point me towards something that works with m7.Kindest Regards
Bryan
Riyad KallaMemberBryan,
While this may not help get you running under M7, I had a similar problem with 2.1.1 and Source Force CVS… it turns out that the SF server returns a different textual reply ‘cvspserver’ instead of the expected ‘cvs’ reply.Does this sound like your bug?
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=43187If so you can fix it by adjusting your CVS repository settings:
1) Right click on your CVS repository setup in CVS perspective, select Properties
2) Last set of radio buttons, select “Expect a custom program name” and change it from ‘cvs’ to ‘cvspserver’Did this help or was your problem something else?
[email protected]MemberHmmm I think this bug is to do with cvs on sourceforge not accepting the “ls” command. I’ve tried it again
tonight and pserver works fine with eclipse m7 but not with my 2.1.2 version.
I can’t test extssh ( which is what i’m really interested in ) because sourceforge screwed up my public key
import into the server. Gotta delete it and wait for it to refresh.
To be honest sourceforge is so lame these days but I don’t have a server that i can put my application under
cvs with ( i work from home with one machine )
[email protected]MemberActually I finally managed to get onto sourceforge again this morning. They have another bug in
their system that means you have to change your password ( even to itself ) every two weeks or
you get locked out of cvs. I’ve tried your workarround but it doesn’t seem to work. To be honest
I’ve tried quite a couple of them by now and the only thing that works is upgrading to m7.
I’m just going to back up manually with a rsysnc script for the next couple of weeks and hopefully
after that you will be out with your g7.
All I gotta do then is wait for eclipse to start supporting 1.5 … wahaey !!!! -
