First week of December. We had to stay in QA longer than expected to iron out some distribution flows to make install and update scenarios easier going forward. 7.0 also (behind the scenes) lays the groundwork for some serious changes that have started and will continue through 7.1 > 8.0 for taking MyEclipse to the next level and giving our users more control over the IDE.
We also used this extra QA time to sneak in little tweaks here and there that originally weren’t going to make the cut. Nothing major, but nice tweaks that are safe.

We aren’t thrilled about the slipped date either, it’s just how the stars aligned and had to be dealt with. If it’s any consolation, the entire company “never wants to do this again” and we are going back to 3-month delivery cycles.
It was one of those perfect storms of many ideas all funneling down to a single choke point that all depended on each other and *all* had to get addressed in unison. Luckily it doesn’t look like this will happen again after 7.0.
