delfuegoMemberIn MyEclipse 6.5.1 (6.5.1-GA.20080715), if I highlight a bunch of file types and use the right-click context menu “Properties” selection, I get an error if I select a few of the options in the left-hand column. Specifically, if I highlight an .XML file, a .JAR file, or a few other types, and then choose “Java Code Style”, “Java Compiler”, “Project References”, and a few others, I get a dialog with the error “An error has occurred. See error log for more details. Reason: org.eclipse.core.internal.resources.File”.
Now, you might say that these options don’t *apply* to these file types, and that’s correct — which is why I was confused that they were showing up in the File Properties dialog. And running base Eclipse 3.3.2, they don’t show up in the File Properties dialog; the only options under base Eclipse 3.3.2 are “Resource” and “Run/Debug Settings”. So this appears to be MyEclipse adding them to the Properties dialog, but not being able to handle them.
Does this make sense?
The contents of the log file, after triggering this error, are as follows:

Loyal WaterMemberdelfuego,
I tried selecting a JAR and an XML file and opening the right click context menu but my Properties option gets disabled. Can you list the steps to help me reproduce this issue. Can you go to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details and paste the information here for me.
delfuegoMemberNipun, you misunderstand; you select ONE file, not multiple. So select *any* JAR file, or *any* XML file, or whatever, but don’t select more than one; then do the right-click > Properties.
In any event, here’s my installation details, for the version I re-installed this morning in an attempt to try to isolate all the bugs I’m stumbling over; this version exhibits this Properties bug just like the others have.

Loyal WaterMemberdelfuego,
I was able to reproduce this issue. I’ll file it for my dev team right away. Thanks for reporting this. -
