fermataintlMemberI had the exact problem described in your updating post and followed your instructions by using the web installer. I got as far as a dialog box indicating an error as follows:
Profile com.poweredbypulse.profile-3233197-rmb-583275 is already installed; unable to proceed.
What do I need to do now?
Thanks
Dean
Scott AndersonParticipantDean,
First, we apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. There are a LOT of installation scenarios for MyEclipse and we know a couple of them can be problematic for upgrade this time.
Here are two other ways to correct.
1) Since you already have MyEclipse installed, you also have the Pulse Explorer installed as well. It will be in the Genuitec installation directory under the sub-directory “Pulse Explorer”. You can launch the Pulse Explorer, select “anonymous” as the login type. Then in the ‘My Profiles” section you should see your MyEclipse installation listed. Simply right click on it and select “Reinstall then run…”. That will repair the launch and start MyEclipse. You can then exit the Pulse Explorer.
2) You can also download the full “double click” installer for your platform from the downloads page and run that to correct the installation.
fermataintlMemberI am still having problems. There were 2 profiles called MyEclipse 8.5, so I deleted one and then tried #1 in your message. The system said it was not installed so I told it to go ahead and install. It eventually popped up a dialog saying “Profile contains errors” and further: “Cannot complete the install because of a conflicting dependency.”
I’m not sure what you mean by #2 but if you want me to try, I will, just give a bit more direction.
Scott AndersonParticipantHmmm… That’s very peculiar indeed. Let’s go with #2. In this option what I meant for you to do was go to our normal download page and click on the platform-specific “All In One” installer for your machine. That will download a full MyEclipse installer that you can just launch and run. When prompted with any options, tell it you want a “New Installation”, not an upgrade or launch of an existing install.
fermataintlMemberok, doing that now… what about the 8.5 profile that shows up in pulse?
Scott AndersonParticipantFor the one that already shows up, you can right-click on it and select “Reinstall then run…” That should do the trick
fermataintlMemberthat worked. thanks
Scott AndersonParticipantAwesome! Glad to hear it. Thanks for letting us know.
